Bless Us Father As We Read

Bless us, Father, as we read
From these open pages,
Precious lessons, kept for us
Thro’ the bygone ages.

Bless us, Father, while we read
May thy Word grow dearer;
As we look to thee for help,
May the light grow clearer.

May the Holy Comforter
Bless to us the reading;
May we hear the Saviour’s voice
Pleading, gently pleading. [Chorus]

Here we learn the will of God,
May we learn to do it;
Here we find the way of life,
May we still pursue it. [Chorus]

May we learn of Jesus’ love,
Doing daily duty,
Till we see his face above,
In its wondrous beauty. [Chorus]
