I Would Be A Little Pilgrim
I would be a little pilgrim,
Traveling all the narrow way,
To the pilgrim land of promise,
There to dwell in endless day.
What would be earth’s best of blessings
For a little earthly hour,
Should I miss the heav’nly ages,
And the resurrection pow’r?
When the meek shall earth inherit,
Earth renewed in wondrous grace,
Paradise restored forever,
In it let me have a place.
So, when Christ shall come from heaven,
Throng’d by shining cherubim,
Let him find me at my duty,
Or in peaceful sleep in him.
