O God My Heart Is Fixed Ill Sing

O GOD, my heart is fix’d; I’ll sing,
yea with my glory praise:
Awake up psaltery and harp;
my self I’ll early raise.
Thy praise, O LORD, will I proclaim
among the people round;
Among the nations I with songs
thy praises will resound.

For thy benignity is great,
ev’n to the htav’ns on high;
And thy eternal truth extends,
up to the cloudy sky.
Above the starry firmament
exalt thy self, O GOD;
And o’er the spacious earth display
thy glory all abroad.

That those who thy beloved are
may quite deliver’d be:
O do Thou save with thy right hand,
and answer give to me.
GOD in his holiness hath spoke,
and I’ll triumph with joy;
Shechem divide, and Succoth’s vale,
measure for mine will I.

Gilead is mine, Manasseh mine,
who both espouse my cause;
Ephraim is of my strength the head,
and Judah gives my laws.
Moab I will my washpot make;
my shoe o’er Edom fling;
And over Palestina’s land
I will in triumph sing.

Who will me to the city lead
so strongly fortify’d?
And who will into Edom’s land
me and my army guide?
Didst Thou not cast us off, O GOD?
yet still we look to thee:
Wilt Thou not with our armies go,
and GOD our leader be?

O from our trouble give us help;
for man’s help vain is known;
Thro’ GOD we shall do valiantly;
and He’ll our foes tread down.
