Passing Through This World A Stranger

Passing through this world, a stranger,
Still I know my gracious Guide,
And the Hand that shields from danger,
Whate’er evil may betide.

Refrain:
Jesus’ Hand it is that guides me,
With the scar that shows His love;
Since His guiding Hand He gave me,
All my pathway leads above.

From the depths my cry ascended,
From the Heights He bent to hear,
Lifted up, redeemed, befriended,
Jesus’ Hand still keeps me near. [Refrain]

Through the path of Pain and Sorrow,
Heavy-laden, sore oppressed,
Pointing to a brighter morrow,
Jesus’ Hand upheld and blessed. [Refrain]

Day by day upon me resting,
Leading toward you Better Land,
While the storm and tempest breasting,
Let me feel that guiding Hand. [Refrain]
