The Power That Changes Everything

The Power That Changes Everything I've walked this earth long enough to know when something is real and when it's just noise. And I'm here to tell you: the power of Jesus is as real as the ground beneath your feet.

I’ve walked this earth long enough to know when something is real and when it’s just noise. And I’m here to tell you: the power of Jesus is as real as the ground beneath your feet.

Not the sanitized version they sell you in greeting cards. Not the passive, weak caricature that gets passed around like cheap wine at dinner parties. I’m talking about the power that split history in two. The power that turned fishermen into world-changers and cowards into martyrs.

You want to know what that power looks like? It looks like a man who could command storms to be silent with a word. Who could walk into a room where death had already won and call a dead girl back to life like she was just sleeping in too late. Who could take five loaves and two fish and feed thousands because scarcity bows to authority when real authority shows up.

But here’s what most people miss: that same power—that exact same force that raised Lazarus from a four-day-old grave—is available to you right now. Today. This moment.

I’m not speaking theoretically. I’ve seen it. I’ve lived it. I’ve watched marriages on the brink of destruction become unshakeable. I’ve seen addictions that had a man in chains for twenty years break in an instant. I’ve watched fear that paralyzed entire families dissolve like morning fog when the sun comes up.

That’s what the power of Jesus does. It doesn’t negotiate with your problems. It doesn’t manage your sin. It breaks it. Utterly. Completely.

You know what the difference is between religion and power? Religion gives you a list. Power gives you a life. Religion tells you to try harder. Power says, “I’ll do it through you.” Religion is you climbing a mountain you’ll never summit. Power is standing on a mountain and realizing Someone carried you there.

The disciples didn’t change the world because they were talented. They changed it because they had access to something that made talent irrelevant. They had the Spirit of the Living God inside them. They had authority. Not borrowed. Not faked. Real authority that came from being connected to the Source.

And here’s the part that should wake you up at night: Jesus said you’d do even greater things than He did. Not smaller. Greater. Because He was going to the Father and sending His Spirit to live inside you.

Think about that. Let it sink in past your doubt and your cynicism and your carefully constructed walls. The power that spoke galaxies into existence wants to operate through your life.

Not because you’re special. Not because you’ve earned it. But because He decided that’s how He wants to move in this world—through surrendered, willing vessels who stop trying to generate their own strength and learn to tap into His.

I’ve been on both sides of this. I’ve tried to live the Christian life on my own steam, and I’ve lived it in His power. One is exhausting religion. The other is effortless rest. One is white-knuckling through each day. The other is walking in authority you didn’t manufacture.

The power of Jesus isn’t a metaphor. It’s not positive thinking with a Scripture verse attached. It’s the literal, tangible, world-altering force that holds the universe together, and it’s been extended to you like a hand reaching down into a pit.

You just have to take it.

Stop trying to be strong enough. You’re not, and you never will be. Stop trying to be good enough. That ship sailed before you were born. Just surrender. Yield. Get out of the way and let the power that conquered death itself flow through you like a river that’s been waiting to break through a dam.

I’m telling you this because I know what’s possible. I’ve seen what happens when people stop playing church and start accessing the actual power of the risen Christ. They become dangerous. They become unstoppable. Not because of who they are, but because of who He is in them.

That’s the difference between someone who knows about Jesus and someone who knows His power. One has information. The other has transformation.

Which one are you?
