To Zions Hill I Lift My Eyes Hopkinson
To Sion’s Hill I lift my Eyes,
From thence expecting Aid;
From Sion’s Hill and Sion’s GOD,
Who Heav’n and Earth hath made.
My Soul, in Safety rest,
For know, thy Guardian will not sleep;
His Care who Israel guards,
Will surely thee in Safety keep.
Shelter’d beneath th’Almighty’s Wings,
Thou shalt securely rest;
Where neither Sun nor Moon shall thee
By Day or Night molest.
From common Accidents
His watchful Care shall guard thee still;
His Hand shall thee preserve,
From Foes that lie in wait to kill.
At home, abroad, in Peace, in War,
Thy GOD shall thee defend,
Conduct thee through Life’s Pilgrimage,
Safe to thy Journey’s End.
