When The Way Is So Dark That No Light

When the way is so dark that no light we can see,
It is better to trust in the Lord;
There is always one refuge to which we may flee,
It is better to trust in the Lord.

Refrain:
Then “trust in the Lord with all thine heart!”
O fear not the darkest night;
“In all thy ways acknowledge Him,”
And He surely will guide thee aright.

When we think of our sins and are filled with distress,
It is better to trust in the Lord;
It is folly to trust in our own righteousness,
It is better to trust in the Lord. [Refrain]

Let us learn in the time when the billows run high,
It is better to trust in the Lord;
It is vain for our help upon man to rely,
It is better to trust in the Lord. [Refrain]

So, whatever the trouble, whatever the need,
It is better to trust in the Lord;
We shall find Him a friend and a helper indeed,
It is better to trust in the Lord. [Refrain]
